The southern part of the Sierra National park is widely recognized as one of the finest mountain biking areas in Europe.

There are numerous biking routes that cover a wide range of terrain, some of them passing through Andalusia's most dramatic landscapes and often with spectacular skyscape views. Routes stretch in every direction; from the snowy peaks right down to the Mediterranean coast.

Andalucia has a vast and varied landscape; routes of all difficulties can be found here. It is suitable for both beginners and experienced riders. The terrain consists of dirt roads, forest footpaths, streams etc. some of the routes have technical rocky sections, and there are occasional steep drops on the descents. Many of the tracks are interlinked making one huge network. You can explore numerous routes, in succession without stopping or getting off the bike.

Vehicle support is provided by some tour operators. Duration can be anything from 2 to 6 hours. Most tour operators will require that you are an average trained cyclist with a normal mountain bike. Front suspension and/or rear suspension is advised if tackling routes with rocky sections.
