This zone is located between the Malaga and Granada provinces.
 

This zone is located between the Malaga and Granada provinces. The whole area covers 40,663 hectares and includes four municipal areas of Granada and eight municipal areas of Malaga.

In 1999, the Tejeda and Almijara areas were declared national reserves; here you will find Golden Eagles, Hawk Eagles, Short-toed Snake Eagles, Booted Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Goshawks…to name a few.

Among the fauna, Corsican Pine, (Ocean) Pine, Juniper, Black Juniper, Holm Oak, Cork Oak, Gall Oak etc, can all be found here.

Popular activities here include: hiking, mountain biking, climbing and speleology (caving).
